“I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh.”
—Joel 2:28
Eschatology
Noun / es-kə-ˈtä-lə-jē/
A branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind. —Merriam-Webster Dictionary
I feel for young people today. Many are just getting started in life, stepping into careers, relationships, and dreams—only to be met with a constant drumbeat of bad news. War, division, economic pressure, and fear seem to dominate the headlines.
When Bible prophecy is mentioned, it often comes with a heavy tone:
“The end is near.”
It’s no wonder some ask:
“What do we have to look forward to?”
“Why even have kids if the future is so dark?”
But that’s not what Jesus said.
Remember His words in Luke 21:28:
“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
He didn’t just say look up—He said, “Lift your heads.”
Too many Christians have been walking with their heads down for far too long.
We don’t have to live with an eschatology of fear—we can live with an eschatology of hope and victory. God is doing great and mighty things in our day. There is a global harvest coming, and we are all called to participate in it.
I believe this great outpouring of the Spirit will be multi-generational.
Just as the prophet Joel foresaw—and Peter affirmed in the book of Acts:
“And in the last days,” says God, “I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”
—Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17
We need the vision, energy, and passion of the younger generation, and the wisdom, depth, and steadiness of the older. Together, we can carry a message that’s not just grounded in biblical truth—but also in joy, compassion, and victorious hope.
So let’s remind ourselves and each other:
The world is not falling apart.
The world is falling into place.
Lift up your heads!
