“His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” — 2 Peter 1:3

A doctor left a successful practice and a six-figure salary to deliver babies in a run-down maternity ward in Moscow. Using her own money to improve and run the ward, she is rapidly depleting her savings and risking her financial security.

She has never been happier.

She is following God’s call on her life.

The more we grow in the knowledge of God, the more we learn what truly matters. Our happiness is a direct result of deepening our relationship with the Lord.

When our will is subject to His will, our spirits soar under the wings of His love.

If your spirit is broken, your will feels out of control, and discouragement weighs you down, I suggest three things:

Humble your spirit and worship God.
Seek Him with your whole heart. Purpose in your heart to have a personal relationship with Him. Spend time in His Word and in prayer. Ask Him to align your desires with His.

Educate your mind.
It doesn’t matter how many degrees or accolades you have. Life is a continual process of learning and growing. When you stop learning, you become stagnant—and yes, boring. If your curiosity has faded and your questions have dried up, it’s time to begin again like a child. Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Never be satisfied with where you are spiritually. Feed on God’s Word. Educate your mind and soul. Grow.

Dedicate your body to active service.
Romans 12:1 says, “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
People want their lives to matter. Many discover joy in serving—through churches, the Red Cross, Scouts, Sunday school, or home fellowships. Wherever God places you, He will bless you as you give yourself in service.

We all need a mission in life—and God has given us the greatest one of all. He commands us to love Him, love our neighbors, and go into the world to preach the Gospel and share His love.

Through God’s divine power, we already possess everything we need for life—everything that truly matters, that satisfies, and that leads to abundant living.

Pastor Ray Bentley

Love God. Love People. Pastor Ray Bentley lived by those words. His love for the Lord and the people he served was demonstrated every day through his actions, leadership, ministry, teaching, sharing, and caring.
