Consuming. Purifying. Cleansing. Healing.
Fire.
Fire that is here, now.
Fire that is ready to burn into our lives—renewing us, filling us with the Holy Spirit.
God wants us to be on fire for Him.
The prophet Isaiah gives us one of the most vivid pictures of this holy fire. Read his encounter with heaven:
“Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said:
‘Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged.’
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
‘Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?’
Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”
—Isaiah 6:6–8
Isaiah repented.
He was cleansed by holy fire.
Then he was ready—ready to go where God sent him, ready to do the will of the Lord.
That same fire came again at Pentecost.
Jesus had ascended, promising the gift of the Holy Spirit. And as the disciples gathered, tongues of fire fell upon them. Peter—once fearful—preached with boldness and passion. That day, 3,000 people came to faith. The fire touched their hearts and their lips and set the church ablaze.
That same fire is available to us today.
🔥 I pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church.
🔥 I pray that we would be cleansed, refined, and set aflame with holy passion.
🔥 I pray that our lips, like Isaiah’s, would be purified to speak life, truth, and thanksgiving.
🔥 I pray that we would say, “Here I am. Send me.”
When we are filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, we will see lives changed—especially our own.
Hearts will be softened.
Minds will be renewed.
Bodies will be healed.
And our worship will rise like incense from lips touched by fire.
Holy Spirit, fall on us again. Let Your fire burn within us.
