“We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:18

Do you ever think the world seems crazy, like it’s unraveling? That feeling is distressing and can be frightening.  But it doesn’t have to be!

As new believers, one of the first things we learn is that we are new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Before being born-again, we could only experience the physical world around us.  But as spiritually alive people, we can access an unseen world in another dimension.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to stop looking only at what we can see with our natural eyes.  The truth is, the spiritual dimension is eternal and more real than the physical world.

The Kingdom of Heaven exists as a whole realm of the supernatural, where the throne of God, the cherubim, the seraphim, the angels of the Lord, the glory of the Lord, and Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father all reside.  All of that, everything described in the Bible of the unseen world, you and I can “see” by faith.

Have you ever, with your spiritual eyes, seen the Father step off His throne, get down on His knees and stretch out His arms toward you?  Have you ever seen that?  The idea that God kneels before us to bless us, as we saw earlier in the priestly blessing of Numbers 6:24, is biblical.

When I visit my young granddaughter, I get down to her level and open my arms wide.  She knows I’m saying, “Come here.”  It’s the only invitation she needs to take off running and tackle me.

Our Heavenly Father desires to have that experience with us.  He’s not a distant God.   Every day He gets off of His throne, kneels down, and opens His arms wide.  “Come here,” He invites us.  “I want to wrap my arms around you, bless you, and listen to you.”

That’s vastly different than just going through a prayer list before Him and then getting on with our day. Prayer lists are fine, and He invites us to ask Him for what we need.  But what He desires is a warm and genuine relationship.  Just like a human dad with his children when he kneels and stretches out his arms.

Can you see it?  By faith, look at the Father inviting you into His embrace and then respond.  It will become a source of joy, power, and intimacy in your relationship.
